Abstoß is a district of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Aboss is located southwest of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Flosbach brook on the border with the municipality of Lindlar . Neighboring towns are Oberbenningrath , Ballsiefen , Thier , Niederflosbach and the town of Oberbüschem, which belongs to the municipality of Lindlar .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 15 (150) Thier in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1443 the place is listed for the first time under the name "Affstol" in a register of the income and rights of the Cologne Apostle monastery . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and names them "Abstos" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard and designates them with “Abstos”. In the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844, the spelling “Abstoss” is used.
