List of German names for Slovenian places

The numbering behind the places goes back to the structure of the Austrian districts , the so-called district authorities from 1900: They correspond to the judicial districts that were decided in 1849.

The Übermur area (Slovene: Prekmurje ) belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary to the Vas and Zala counties until 1918 ; it was designated with Ü .

The letter Č was sorted after C , Š after S and Ž after Z.

Churches are in bold .

For many places the name was changed due to the law of 1948 on the names and designations of squares, streets and buildings; to remove Christian and German elements. As far as is known, these places are in the list under both names.

If there is an addition in brackets after the name, e.g. B. Sankt Andrä (near Bischoflack), it is not an official addition to the name.
