Weinbach is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth on the state road L286. The place consists of two separate settlement areas. Oberweinbach lies on the watershed between Wupper and Agger . Unterweinbach is 500 m north of it at the confluence of the L286 with the federal road B506. Neighboring places are Klingsiepen , Wildblech , Münte , Eichholz and Erlen .

Politically, Weinbach is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate from electoral district 7.1 (071) south-western urban area.

history

In 1577 the place was first mentioned under the name "Wienbeck" as a court belonging to the St. Marien-Vicarie of the church in Wipperfürth. The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows two enclosed courtyards under the common name "Winbek." At the location of Unterweinbach, the map shows three separate floor plans. "Wienbeck" is mentioned in the Prussian first recording from 1840 . From the topographic maps from 1894 to 1896, the place name is Weinbach.

A stone cross is in the area of ​​Oberweinbach. The age of the cross is not known.
