coat of arms

Coat of arms of Dreikirchen
Blazon : “Late Gothic round shield divided into three parts by wavy silver lines. In red three silver / black stylized church towers, in front in green silver oak branch with two acorns, behind in blue four silver, black stylized basalt columns. "
Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms of the local community Dreikirchen symbolizes essential traditional features of the two former independent local communities Oberhausen and Pütschbach and their merger to form the new local community Dreikirchen in April 1969.

The silver wavy lines represent the Häuserbach in the Oberhausen district and the former stream in the Pütschbach district, which symbolically flow together and form a new unit with a view of the three churches that were created together.

Oberhausen and Pütschbach belonged to the territory of the Nassau counts until 1564 . Subsequently, today's local area came to the Electorate of Trier and in the 19th century belonged to the Duchy of Nassau and then in Prussia to the province of Hesse-Nassau . This is documented by one of their coat of arms colors, namely blue for the predominantly Nassau territorial affiliation and red for the Electoral Trier period. Here the new place name can be found in the silver / white stylized towers of the three churches of the local community.

The dominant tower in the middle refers to the old fortified church from the 12th century, the left tower represents the reference to the chapel in the district of Oberhausen, while the right tower is in turn a connecting element of both former parishes as a reference to the parish church.

The front in green silver oak branch shown with two acorns points to the centuries existing in the district Pütschbach Eichwald and the related nature, the back in blue shown silver four stylized columns represent the reference to the in the district Oberhausen located basalt deposits and the local , represents basalt mining operated for generations.
