- At the European motorcycle championship held on the Clady Circuit in Northern Ireland, the Briton Maurice Cann on Moto Guzzi won the title in the 250 cc class ahead of the two Northern Irish Excelsior pilots Jock McCredie and Harold Kirby .
- In the 350s, the British Velocette factory driver Freddie Frith wins ahead of his fellow brand colleagues and compatriots Ken Bills and Frank Fry .
- In the half-liter class, the Italian Enrico Lorenzetti wins in a Moto Guzzi ahead of the two British Johnny Lockett ( Norton ) and Leslie Graham ( AJS ).
