George Nash (rower)
George Christopher Nash , MBE (born October 2, 1989 in Guildford ) is a retired British rower . He won the world championship title in 2013 in eight and in 2014 in four without a helmsman .
Career
Nash started at the Junior World Championships in 2006 and finished fourth in eighth without a helmsman, at the Junior World Championships in 2007 he won with the British four-man without a helmsman. In 2010 he won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships with the four without a helmsman . In 2011, Nash made his World Cup debut when he and Constantine Louloudis won the B-final in two without a helmsman in Lucerne. At the U23 World Championships in 2011, the two won the title. In 2012, Nash drove in two without a helmsman with William Satch , the two of whom won the bronze medal behind the boats from New Zealand and France at the Olympiaregatta in Eton .
In 2013, before the World Cup in Lucerne, Nash moved to the British eighth, who finished fourth there. At the World Rowing Championships in Chungju , the British eighth won ahead of the Germans, it was the first ever world title for the British men's eighth. In 2014, Alex Gregory , Mohamed Sbihi , George Nash and Andrew Triggs Hodge switched from the world championship eight to the four without a helmsman; this boat won both the 2014 European Rowing Championships in Belgrade and the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. In 2015, Nash won the silver medal at the European Championships and the gold medal at the World Championships with the British eighth . At the 2016 European Championships , Alex Gregory, Mohamed Sbihi, George Nash and Constantine Louloudis, four rowers from the 2015 world championship eight, competed in a four-man without a helmsman and won the title. In the same line-up, the British four-man also won the 2016 Olympic Games .
The 1.95 meter tall George Nash rows for the Molesey Boat Club . As a student at Cambridge University, Nash took part in the Boat Race three times , and in 2010 he was in the victorious boat.
