  • Helwan / Egypt : In an attack by four assassins on a civilian police minibus, eight police officers are shot.
  • Kilis / Turkey : The Turkish armed forces attacked positions of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) in northern Syria through artillery bombardment, killing 55 IS fighters and destroying three rocket launchers.
  • Muqur / Afghanistan : 52 people are killed in a serious traffic accident in Ghazni province in the Muqur district. 73 others are injured, some seriously.
  • Sanming / China : After heavy rains, a landslide in Kaishan injures seven people and 41 other people are missing.

  • Aden / Yemen : According to a hospital, at least 45 people die and 30 others are injured in two suicide attacks by the Islamic State (IS) in front of an army barracks in the Khormaksar district and in front of a commander's house.
  • Jabla / Syria : In several terrorist attacks by the Islamic State (IS) in Jabla and Tartus , at least 153 people were killed and more than 200 injured in seven explosions, two car bombs and five suicide bombings, according to SOHR . The Syrian news agency SANA initially reported at least 78 deaths.
  • Écully / France : The French household appliance manufacturer SEB is taking over the German manufacturer of household, catering and hotel goods, WMF Group , based in Geislingen an der Steige , for 1.6 billion euros . The competition authorities have yet to approve the takeover.
  • Fallujah / Iraq : The Iraqi armed forces start another offensive to recapture the city from the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS). Remaining civilians were asked to leave the city beforehand. Those who are unable to do so should hoist a white flag and stay away from IS headquarters. The day before, the Iraqi air force increasingly attacked IS positions. The offensive is supported by police units, tribal forces, Shiite militias as well as warplanes and combat drones of the US Air Force ( see Operation Inherent Resolve ).
  • Frankfurt : Before the Landgericht Frankfurt the day trader has Armin S . filed a civil suit for EUR 152 million against the French bank BNP Paribas . Probably the highest demand that a civil person in Germany has ever made in court.
