- Africa : The result of the Great Elephant Census ( German large elephant count ) is published. - Kabul / Afghanistan : At least 24 people die in three attacks. An attack on the aid organization Care International ends with the death of the three attackers. The Taliban are considered to be the originator of the acts of violence .
- Tartus / Syria : In a double attack by the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) in the port city, at least 35 people die and 43 others are injured. - Bochum / Germany : On the sixth floor of the Bergmannsheil University Hospital , a patient doused herself with disinfectant and set herself on fire. The fire spreads in the building.
