description

The national approval authority approved the first version on September 13, 1928. Renault presented the vehicle in October 1928 at the Paris Motor Show both under its type code and as Renault Reinahuit . The model name Reinastella was only used after the motor show. The predecessor was the Renault Type NM . Production ended in 1933. The successor was the Renault Reinasport .

The water-cooled eight - cylinder engine with a 90 mm bore and 140 mm stroke had a displacement of 7125 cm³ . It was Renault's first eight-cylinder engine. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The radiator was placed in front of the engine for the first time at Renault.

Type RM

The engine developed 110 hp . With a wheelbase of 371.4 cm and a track width of 150.7 cm at the front and 153.5 cm at the rear, the vehicle was 540 cm long with bumpers (550 cm with case), 192 cm wide and 180 cm high. The turning circle was given as 17 meters. The chassis weighed 1780 kg. Are Narrated Pullman limousine and Landaulet .

From 1929 a shorter chassis was also available. Four-door sedans , four-door convertible sedans and roadsters are known.

Type RM 1

This version appeared in 1930. Usually there were vertical ventilation slots on the sides of the bonnet; However, there were also special bodies from external body manufacturers without these ventilation slots. In addition to limousines, Pullman limousines, convertibles and coupés , touring cars have been handed down.

Type RM 2 and Type RM 3

These two versions were presented in October 1931. Noticeable were five ventilation flaps in the sides of the bonnet. Some vehicles had 12 short horizontal ventilation slots above, arranged in four groups of three. Depending on the body variant, the vehicles were now 540 cm to 560 cm long, 192 cm wide and between 173 cm and 180 cm high. As Reinastella Sport with a four-speed transmission, there were only sedans, and as Reinastella Tourisme with a three-speed transmission, there were limousines and Pullman sedans.

Type RM 4

This version was in the range in model year 1933. The engine developed 130 hp. In contrast to previous versions, the front bumper no longer consisted of two tubes, but was made in one piece.
