Rubay Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Frenchman Leon Rubay was already producing car bodies from 1914 . In 1922 he founded the separate company in Cleveland , Ohio for vehicle production. Automobile production began in December of the same year. The brand name was Leon Rubay . In the late autumn of 1923, Leon Rubay was in France with nerve problems. The bankruptcy began. In January 1924 the company was sold to the Raulang Body Company .

A total of about 12 vehicles were built, one of which still exists.

Paul C. Bastien designed the engine, which Arthur M. Dean revised. It was a four-cylinder engine with OHC valve control , 2043 cm³ displacement and between 32 and 36 hp . The chassis had a 300 cm wheelbase . Are Narrated sedan , coupe , Town Car and Convertible . The four-wheel brakes were unusual. The original price was 5,100 US dollars for the cheapest version.

Two sources suggest that potential buyers expect more cylinders , more displacement, more power and a longer wheelbase for the purchase price .
