The Renault Fluence is a notchback sedan made by the French car manufacturer Renault . Like its predecessor Mégane II notchback u. a. built by Oyak-Renault in Bursa in Turkey and Renault Argentina in the province of Cordoba . It is based on the Samsung SM3 and the Renault Mégane III .

Depending on the country, the Fluence is offered in different versions and with different gasoline and diesel engines . With the Fluence ZE , Renault also offered a version with only electric drive from the beginning of 2012 . The vehicle is the first electric car with a traction battery based on the exchange system sought by Better Place .

The vehicles with conventional drive were also available in Germany from August 2010 , although sales were stopped in October 2012 due to a lack of demand. The version with electric drive was offered until the general production stop in mid-January 2014. The vehicle will continue to be offered in other countries such as Russia , Ukraine or Turkey .

The engines provide between 66 kW (90 PS; 1.5 dCi) and 103 kW (140 PS; 2.0 16V).

In Austria , the Fluence was only equipped with a gasoline engine with 81 kW (110 PS; 1.6 16V) and a diesel engine with 81 kW (110 PS; 1.5 dCi), the 6-speed manual version or with a dual clutch transmission EDC was offered.
