Regina was a French car brand.

Company history

The Société l'Électrique company was founded by Bernard Maurice Dufresne and Count Armand de Gantaut Biron in Paris and began producing automobiles in 1903 , which were marketed under the Regina brand. Production ended in 1908. There was no connection to Automobiles Regina .

Regina-Dixi model

The company offered various models with petrol engines on the basis of a license agreement with the Dixi works in Eisenach . There were models with 17 hp , 26 hp and 40 hp. The engines drove the rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft.

Gallia and Galliette models

Various models with electric motors were created under these names . The Società Italiana Vetture Elettriche Gallia from Turin manufactured these models under license . These vehicles were exported to the United States as Gallia Electric through a branch at 152-154 West 38th Street in New York City .
