The Sandbanks National Park (English Sandbanks National Park ) is a 8.4 hectare national park in Queensland , Australia . It is located within the Great Barrier Reef and is therefore part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site .

The national park is located 390 kilometers northwest of Cairns on the east coast of the Cape York Peninsula in the Coral Sea . The islands lie off Point Stewart north of Princess Charlotte Bay , 100 kilometers east of Coen and 275 kilometers northwest of Cooktown .

In the immediate vicinity are the national parks Claremont Isles and Flinders Group in the Coral Sea , on the mainland KULLA (McIlwraith Range) and Lama Lama .
