Germany took part in the XI. 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin with a delegation of 348 athletes (306 men and 42 women).

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Hans Fritsch . The gymnast Konrad Frey was the most successful athlete of the German Olympic team with two gold medals in the individual and one in the team, as well as one silver and two bronze medals.
