The Annan River National Park (English Annan River National Park ) is an approximately 88 square kilometers national park in Queensland , Australia .
location
The park is located in the Far North Queensland region . It is located about 175 kilometers north of Cairns and 8 kilometers south of Cooktown . From the Mulligan Highway via Archer Point Road , only the Resources Reserve of the same name, which is adjacent to the national park, can be reached. There are no roads or visitor facilities in the national park itself.
National nature
In the east, the park is bounded by the Coral Sea in the north by the Annan River , one of the largest river systems in the Cooktown area. Mudflats , coastal dunes, granite hills and metamorphic rocks are home to a diverse flora and fauna. These include the endangered fox shark ( Erythrotriorchis radiatus ), red owl ( Ninox rufa ), ( Typhlops brongersmianus ) a harmless snake from the blind snake family and the almost threatened Bennett tree kangaroos ( Dendrolagus bennettianus ).
