Distribution of the surname Huber in Germany

This led to the development of the family name Huber, which is one of the most common 5 to 10 in the German-speaking world , especially in Austria and Switzerland , where it makes up around 0.3 percent of family names (after Bauer , Müller and Mayer with 0.4%, Wagner , Berger, Fischer, Gruber and Schwarz with 0.3%). Common surnames in Upper Austria are also Huemer, Humer.
