The Twizy Renault Sport F1 is a prototype of the French car manufacturer Renault and is based on the Renault Twizy . Just like the production model, the Twizy Renault Sport F1 is a purely electric vehicle , but unlike the two-seater series version, it only has a single-seat driver's cab.
history
The Twizy Renault Sport celebrated its world premiere on April 27, 2013 at the World Series by Renault in Motorland Aragón . Series production of the concept study is not planned.
Furnishing
The Twizy Renault Sport F1 features numerous technologies and equipment elements from Formula 1 . These include the single-seat driver's cab, side boxes, front wing, rear wing and rear diffuser, racing slicks, a steering wheel with an integrated measurement data display, an RS monitor and various carbon components. In addition, the Twizy Renault Sport F1 is the world's first road vehicle to use the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) braking energy recovery system . So far, this technology has only been used in Formula 1 vehicles. In contrast to the premier class racing cars, the KERS in the Twizy is not linked to a combustion engine , but to an electric motor .
Motorization
The Twizy Renault Sport F1 has two electric motors. One electric motor with 13 kW (18 PS ) corresponds to the more powerful version of the two Twizy series models. The second electric motor is coupled to the KERS. As soon as the KERS battery is fully charged through braking energy recovery, the engine output can be increased by 82 hp for a maximum of 14 seconds at the push of a button on the steering wheel. This means that the total system output of the Twizy Renault Sport F1 is 73 kW (100 PS). The Twizy Sport F1 needs around six seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h. The maximum speed is limited to 110 km / h.
