Musical theater

• January 18 : In Konigsberg the comic opera has King Midas of Wilhelm Kempff its premiere . The libretto written by the composer is based on the text book for the Singspiel The Judgment of Midas by Christoph Martin Wieland .
• May 17th : The world premiere of the opera Matka ( The Mother ) by Alois Hába takes place at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
• May 30th : World premiere of the operetta La Belle de Moudon by Arthur Honegger at the Théâtre du Jorat in Mézières
• June 4th : At the Komische Oper Berlin , the operetta women will like it ...! premiered by Walter Kollo . The libretto comes from the team of authors Franz Arnold and Ernst Bach . Rideamus aka Fritz Oliven contributed the lyrics.
• July 24th : The world premiere of the operetta Die Blume von Hawaii by Paul Abraham takes place at the New Theater in Leipzig.
• November 13th : The opera Friedemann Bach by Paul Graener is premiered in the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin. The libretto is by Rudolf Lothar . The text is based on the "biographical" novel of the same name by Albert Emil Brachvogel . The title character is the composer Wilhelm Friedemann Bach . But the plot is fictitious.
• December 8 : The premiere of the opera The Christmas Rose by Frank Bridge will take place in London.
• December 26 : The Musical Of Thee I Sing by George Gershwin , Ira Gershwin , George Simon Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind takes place at the Majestic Theater in New York.
