• Berlin / Germany : When the medium wave transmitters from Deutschlandradio are switched off, the last German stations in this frequency range will be shut down. Broadcasting in Germany began on October 29, 1923 through a medium wave transmitter on the Vox house .
• Brussels / Belgium : Due to the threat of terrorism, the Mayor of the City of Brussels, Yvan Mayeur, in coordination with Interior Minister Jan Jambon, cancels the public New Year's Eve fireworks and all related events.
