Linda T. Sánchez (born January 28, 1969 in Orange , California ) is an American politician .

Linda Sánchez is the younger sister of Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez . Her family is from Mexico ; she has six siblings in total. She first studied at the University of California at Berkeley . After completing a law degree at the University of California in Los Angeles and being admitted to the bar in 1995, she began working in this profession. She specialized in labor law. In 1998 she became an active member of the IBEW electricians' union . In 2000, she was treasurer of the Central Labor Council in Orange County . Politically, she joined the Democratic Party .

In the 2002 congressional election , Linda Sánchez was elected in the 39th  constituency of California to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where she succeeded Ed Royce , who moved to the 40th district, on January 3, 2003 . In the 2012 congressional elections , she moved to the 39th district, which she still represents in the House of Representatives as the successor to Grace Napolitano , who now represents the 32nd district. Her current legislative term runs until January 2021 with the option to run for another candidate in 2020. During her parliamentary term, the Iraq war and the military operation in Afghanistan fell . Sánchez was the highest-ranking member of the Democrats on the Ethics Committee in the 114th Congress . She is also or was a member of the Committee on Ways and Means . In the meantime she was also a member of the Justice Committee and one of its sub-committees.

She has been married for the second time since 2009 and has her private residence in Lakewood . Together with her sister Loretta , she is the only female sibling to date that is also a member of the Congress.
