Ed Zschau
Edwin Van Wyck "Ed" Zschau (born January 6, 1940 in Omaha , Nebraska ) is an American politician . Between 1983 and 1987 he represented the state of California in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Ed Zschau attended the public schools in his home country and then until 1961 Princeton University . He then studied at Stanford University in California until 1967 . He then lectured at Harvard Business School in 1967 and 1968 . He later founded Systems Industries Inc. , and became its president. This company manufactures computer accessories. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .
In the 1982 congressional elections , Zschau was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the twelfth constituency of California , where he succeeded Pete McCloskey on January 3, 1983 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until January 3, 1987 . In 1986, he decided not to run for the House of Representatives again. Instead, he ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the US Senate .
After his time in the US House of Representatives, Ed Zschau worked for Brentwood Associates . As a result, he became a board member and board member of various companies. To this day he works on a private level. He is married and has three children and eight grandchildren.
