Reporter with Gary Condit (August 17, 2001)

In 2001 he hit the headlines himself. It became known that he was dating a woman named Chandra Levy, who then disappeared. The body of the woman who was murdered was later found. There was speculation in the press that Condit might have had something to do with this act. On the other hand, he sued for libel. Another man was eventually caught and sentenced, but later released because the witness lied against him. Thus the case is unsolved. Condit's political career ended because of this matter.

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Condit moved to Arizona , where he ran an ice cream parlor, which went bankrupt.
