Ambel is a French municipality with 28 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Matheysine-Trièves ( canton Corps until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called ambellons .

location

Ambel is located about 45 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble . The Drac borders the community with the dammed Lac du Sautet in the north. Ambel is surrounded by the neighboring communities Corps in the north, Beaufin in the east and south-east, Monestier-d'Ambel in the south and Pellafol in the west and south-west.
