L'Albenc is a French commune with 1,244 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Vinay ). The inhabitants are called albinois .

geography

L'Albenc is about 23 kilometers west of Grenoble on the Isère , which forms the eastern municipal boundary. L'Albenc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chantesse in the north, Poliénas in the northeast, La Rivière in the east, Saint-Gervais in the southeast, Rovon in the south, Vinay in the west and Notre-Dame-de-l'Osier in the northwest.

The A49 autoroute runs through the municipality .
