Mairie Le Gratteris |

Le Gratteris is a French municipality with 186 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
Le Gratteris is located at 470 m , about ten kilometers southeast of the city of Besançon (as the crow flies). The former street row village extends in the western Jura , on the so-called first plateau in a hollow on the southern edge of the Saône basin, at the western foot of Mont Bon.
The area of the 2.97 km² large municipality covers a section of the western French Jura. The main part of the area is taken up by the basin of Le Gratteris, which lies at an average of 470 m and connects to the south of the Saône basin. There are no surface rivers here because the rainwater seeps into the karstified subsoil. To the south the community area extends to the wooded heights of the Grand Mont and to the east to the ridge of the Mont Bon , on which the highest point of Le Gratteris is reached at 620 m.
Neighboring municipalities of Le Gratteris are Saône and Mamirolle in the north, Trépot in the east, Foucherans in the south and Tarcenay-Foucherans in the west.
Attractions
Various large farmhouses in the characteristic style of Franche-Comté from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved in the town center.

With 186 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), Le Gratteris is one of the small communities in the Doubs department. After the population in the first half of the 20th century had always been in the range between 45 and 65 people, a significant increase in population has been recorded since the early 1970s.
Economy and Infrastructure
Until well into the 20th century, Le Gratteris was a village dominated by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) and forestry. Even today, the residents live mainly from their work in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector there are almost no jobs in the village. Many workers are also commuters who work in the surrounding larger towns.
The village is located away from the major thoroughfares on a departmental road that leads from Mamirolle to Montrond-le-Château .
