Chemaudin et Vaux is a French commune with 1,937 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the canton of Besançon-1 in the arrondissement of Besançon . It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2017 by merging the previous communes of Chemaudin and Vaux-les-Prés by a decree of August 12, 2016. Chemaudin has been the main town (chief lieu) since then.
