Mairie Naisey-les-Granges

Naisey-les-Granges is a French municipality with 796 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

geography

Naisey-les-Granges is located at 474  m , about 16 kilometers east of the city of Besançon (beeline). The village extends in the western Jura , on the so-called first plateau on the southern edge of the Saône basin, at the foot of the ridge of the Côte d'Anroz.

The area of the 25.13 km² large municipality covers a section of the western French Jura. The northern part of the area is taken up by the broad first Jura plateau, which averages 450 m and rises slightly to the south. It forms a wide basin with no surface drainage because the rainwater seeps into the karstified subsoil. In the Naisey-les-Granges area, the plateau is predominantly made up of arable and meadow land, and partly also of forest. In the north, the border lies in the extensive wooded area of the Forêt de Chauley . To the south, the municipal area extends over the long, wooded ridge of the Côte d'Anroz , on which the highest point of Naisey-les-Granges is reached at 715 m. The southern border is formed by the Petit Mont on the edge of the Valdahon plateau. In the east, the communal soil extends into the dry valley of Les Chasaux.

The double community Naisey-les-Granges consists of the two districts Naisey ( 474  m ) at the northern foot of the Côte d'Anroz and Granges-de-Vienney ( 550  m ) at an elevated position on the western slope of the Côte d'Anroz as well as several farm groups and individual farms. Neighboring municipalities of Naisey-les-Granges are Bouclans in the north, Gonsans in the east, Verrières-du-Grosbois and L'Hôpital-du-Grosbois in the south and Mamirolle and La Chevillotte in the west.

history

In the Middle Ages Naisey belonged to the Montfaucon dominion . Together with Franche-Comté , the village came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678. The area changed in 1972 when the previously independent municipalities Naisey and Granges-de-Vienney merged to form the new municipality Naisey-les-Granges.

Economy and Infrastructure

Until well into the 20th century, Naisey-les-Granges was primarily a village characterized by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) and forestry. In addition, there are now some local small businesses. In the meantime, the village has also turned into a residential community. Many workers are commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a departmental road that leads from Saône to Gonsans. Further road connections exist with Bouclans and L'Hôpital-du-Grosbois.
