Saint-Jean-le-Vieux is a French municipality with 292 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). Saint-Jean-le-Vieux belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Moyen Grésivaudan (until 2015 Domène ). The inhabitants call themselves Jactous .
geography
Saint-Jean-le-Vieux is located about eleven kilometers east-northeast of Grenoble in a valley of the Grésivaudan . Saint-Jean-le-Vieux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Versoud in the north and west, La Combe-de-Lancey in the east and northeast, Revel in the south and Domène in the west.
