La Sure en Chartreuse is a French municipality with 984 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Oisans-Romanche (until 2015 Villard-de-Lans ).
On January 1, 2017, La Sure en Chartreuse was formed as a Commune nouvelle from the previously independent municipalities of Pommiers-la-Placette and Saint-Julien-de-Raz .

La Sure en Chartreuse is located about 17 kilometers east-southeast of Grenoble . La Sure en Chartreuse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Étienne-de-Crossey in the north, Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière in the east and northeast, Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse in the east, Proveysieux in the southeast, Mont-Saint-Martin in the south, Voreppe in the south and southwest and La Buisse and Coublevie in the west.
