Autrans Méaudre en Vercors is a French commune with a population of 3,000 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Fontaine-Vercors (until 2015 Villard-de-Lans ).
On January 1, 2016, Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors was formed from the previously independent municipalities of Autrans and Méaudre .

geography
Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors is located about 13 kilometers west-southwest of Grenoble in the Vercors massif and, together with Autrans, is an important winter sports resort. Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montaud in the north, Veurey-Voroize in the north-east, Noyarey in the north-east, Engins and Lans-en-Vercors in the east, Villard-de-Lans in the south and south-east, Rencurel in the west and south-west, Saint-Gervais in the west and La Rivière in the north-west.
