Saint-Appolinard is a French municipality with 409 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015 Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called the Appolinairois .

Saint-Appolinard is located about 36 kilometers west of Grenoble in the historic Dauphiné landscape . Saint-Appolinard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bessins in the north, Roybon in the north and north-east, Chevrières in the east, Chatte in the south, Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye in the west and south-west and Dionay in the north-west.
