John James McDannold

John James McDannold (born August 29, 1851 in Mount Sterling , Illinois , †  February 3, 1904 in Chicago , Illinois) was an American politician . Between 1893 and 1895 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .

Career

John McDannold attended public schools in his home country and a private school in Quincy . After a subsequent law degree at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and his admission to the bar in 1874, he began to work in Mount Sterling in this profession. Between 1886 and 1892 he served as a district judge in Brown County . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party .

In the congressional election of 1892 , McDannold was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the twelfth constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Scott Wike on March 4, 1893 . Since he renounced another candidacy in 1894, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1895 . After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, John McDannold moved to Chicago, where he practiced as a lawyer. He died in this city on February 3, 1904.
