Neil J. Linehan

Neil Joseph Linehan (born September 23, 1895 in Chicago , Illinois , †  August 23, 1967 there ) was an American politician . Between 1949 and 1951 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Neil Linehan attended the public schools of his home country and then until 1913 the John L. Marsh School . During the First World War he served in the US Army . Then he worked in the electrical industry. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In the 1948 congressional elections he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Fred E. Busbey on January 3, 1949 . Since he lost to Busbey in 1950, he could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1951 .

Also in 1952 Linehan failed in his last congressional candidacy to Fred Busbey. After his time in the US House of Representatives, he worked again in the electrical industry. In 1951 he was also director of the Price Stability Authority in Chicago. He died in this city on August 23, 1967.
