Jack Davis (politician, 1935)
Jack Davis (born September 6, 1935 in Chicago , Illinois - † February 4, 2018 in Springfield , Illinois) was an American politician . Between 1987 and 1989 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Jack Davis studied at Southern Illinois University Carbondale until 1956 and then served in the US Navy between 1956 and 1959 . Between 1959 and 1978 he ran a steel goods store. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . From 1976 to 1986 he was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives .
In the 1986 congressional election , Davis was elected to the fourth constituency of Illinois in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded the late George M. O'Brien on January 3, 1987 . Since he was not confirmed in 1988, he could only hold one term in Congress until January 3, 1898 .
Between 1990 and 1992, Davis served as a division manager for the Department of the Air Force . During this time, the Second Gulf War fell , in whose logistical support he was involved. Jack Davis also had a morning radio show on 970 WMAY in Springfield .
