William F. Mahoney
William Frank Mahoney (born February 22, 1856 in Chicago , Illinois , † December 27, 1904 there ) was an American politician . Between 1901 and 1904 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .
Career
William Mahoney attended the public schools in his home country and then worked in commerce from 1876. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1884 and 1887 and again from 1890 to 1896 he sat on the city council of his hometown.
In the 1900 congressional elections , Mahoney was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fifth constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Edward Thomas Noonan on March 4, 1901 . After a re-election in the eighth district of his state, he could remain in Congress until his death on December 27, 1904 .
