Janice "Jan" Danoff Schakowsky (born May 26, 1944 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party , who has represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives since 1999 .

Life

Consumer advocate and commitment to senior citizens

After attending Sullivan High School in Chicago, Janice Schakowsky studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated from this degree for elementary school teaching in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).
