Bradley Scott "Brad" Schneider (born August 20, 1961 in Denver , Colorado ) is an American politician . From 2013 to 2015 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives . Since he was able to win back his previous seat in Congress in the 2016 elections, he will take up another term there on January 3, 2017.

Career

Brad Schneider attended Cherry Creek High School in Denver until 1976 and then studied industrial engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston until 1983 . He then worked in a kibbutz in Israel . He then returned to Northwestern University, where he studied at the business school attached to this university until 1988 . Between 1997 and 2003 he was employed in the management of a life insurance company. He then acted as director of a service company. In 2008 he founded his own consulting company.

Politically, Schneider joined the Democratic Party . In the 2012 congressional election , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the tenth constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Republican Robert Dold on January 3, 2013 , whom he won 50.5-49 in the elections , Had beaten 5 percent of the vote. However, he lost his seat in the subsequent congressional elections in 2014 with 48.2: 51.8 again to Robert Dold. Two years later there was another election duel between Dold and Schneider, which Schneider won. He will return to Congress on January 3, 2017.

Brad Schneider is married and has two children. He lives in Deerfield with his family .
