Allen F. Moore

Allen Francis Moore (born September 30, 1869 in St. Charles , Illinois , †  August 18, 1945 in San Antonio , Texas ) was an American politician . Between 1921 and 1925 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1870 Allen Moore moved with his parents to Monticello , where he later attended the public schools and then until 1886 Monticello High School . He then continued his education until 1889 at Lombard College in Galesburg . Then he first made medicines. Then he worked in the banking industry. Between 1908 and 1914 he was a curator at the University of Illinois . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In the congressional election of 1920 Moore was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 19th  constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded William B. McKinley on March 4, 1921 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1925 . In 1924 he renounced another candidacy. The following year Moore was a member of the Republican National Committee . After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, he resumed his previous activities. In 1939 he moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he worked in the oil business. He died there on August 18, 1945.
