Tim Lee Hall (born June 11, 1925 in West Frankfort , Franklin County , Illinois , †  November 12, 2008 in La Grange , Illinois) was an American politician . Between 1975 and 1977 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Tim Hall attended public schools in his home country. During World War II he was a member of the US Coast Guard Reserve from 1943 to 1946. He then graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant in 1951 . This was followed by further courses at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale and then until 1965 at Valparaiso University in Indiana . After that he worked as a teacher for 14 years. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party .

In the 1974 congressional election , Hall was elected to the 15th  constituency of Illinois in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Republican Leslie C. Arends on January 3, 1975 . Since he was not confirmed in 1976, he could only complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1977 . In 1978, Hall competed unsuccessfully to return to Congress. From 1977 to 1983 he worked for the Secretary of State of Illinois. He then returned to school service as a teacher and school councilor in Dwight . In 1990 he unsuccessfully sought his party's nomination for the congressional elections. He died in La Grange on November 12, 2008.
