Career

Robert Dold attended New Trier High School in Winnetka and then studied at Denison University in Granville ( Ohio ) until 1991 . This was followed by courses of study at Indiana University in Bloomington and Northwestern University by 2000 . Dold then took over the family-owned company Rose Pest Solutions . From 1991 to 1993 he was on the staff of US Vice President Dan Quayle ; between 1997 and 1999 he was legal advisor to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the US House of Representatives.

In the 2010 election , Dold was elected to Congress in Washington, DC , in the tenth constituency of Illinois , where on January 3, 2011 he succeeded the now-resigned Mark Kirk , who had been elected to the US Senate . Dold is considered a moderate Republican. He was a member of the Finance Committee and two of its sub-committees. In the 2012 congressional elections , he lost by around 2500 votes to the Democrat Brad Schneider , who was able to replace him in parliament on January 3, 2013. In the subsequent congressional elections in 2014 , he won his seat back with a lead of around 6,500 votes over Schneider. This enabled him to take up another two-year term in the US House of Representatives on January 3, 2015. In the 2016 elections, there was another duel with Schneider, which he won this time. This means that the mandate passed from Dold back to Schneider on January 3, 2017.
