Frank Trimble O'Hair
Frank Trimble O'Hair (born March 12, 1870 near Paris , Illinois , † August 3, 1932 there ) was an American politician . Between 1913 and 1915 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Frank O'Hair attended public schools in his home country. After studying law at DePauw University in Greencastle ( Indiana ) and being admitted to the bar in 1893, he began to work in this profession in his hometown of Paris. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party .
In the 1912 congressional election , O'Hair was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 18th constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Republican Joseph Gurney Cannon on March 4, 1913 . Since he lost to Cannon in 1914 and this regained his old mandate, he was only able to complete one term in Congress until March 3, 1915 . In 1913 the 16th and 17th amendments were ratified.
After his time in the US House of Representatives, Frank O'Hair practiced as a lawyer again. He died on August 3, 1932 in his hometown of Paris.
