Edmund J. Stack
Edmund John Stack (born January 31, 1874 in Chicago , Illinois , † April 12, 1957 ) was an American politician . Between 1911 and 1913 he represented the state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Edmund Stack attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent law degree at Lake Forest University and his admission to the bar in 1895, he began working in this profession in Chicago. He later became one of his hometown legal advisors. He was also a criminal defense attorney. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . In 1906 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress .
In the 1910 congressional elections , Stack was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the sixth constituency of Illinois , where he succeeded Republican William Moxley on March 4, 1911 . Since he was no longer nominated for re-election by his party in 1912, he was only able to complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1913 .
After his time in the US House of Representatives, Edmund Stack practiced law again. He died on April 12, 1957 in his hometown of Chicago.
