Jakobskirche

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jakobskirche , Jakobuskirche , Jakobikirche or St.-Jakobus-Kirche or St. Jakob is the name of numerous churches and chapels that are the patronage of St.Jakob, usually James the Elder , less often the younger James, the son of Alphaeus , and occasionally also subordinate to the progenitor Jakob or are named after him. Jakobskirchen are often on one arm of the Camino de Santiago or were donated as thanks for a successful pilgrimage.
