Saint Antoine l'Abbaye is a commune with 1,155 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan .
It was created with effect from December 31, 2015 as Commune nouvelle by merging the former municipalities of Dionay and Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye (spelling with hyphens). Only Dionay has received the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality ! The administrative headquarters are in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye.

geography
The municipality is located around 20 kilometers northeast of the city center of Romans-sur-Isère . The river Furand drains from the municipal area with its tributaries to the Isère , which runs just outside the eastern municipal boundary and offers important transport links in its valley, such as the A49 motorway and the railway line from Valence to Grenoble .
Neighboring communities are:
- Roybon in the north,
- Bessins and Saint-Appolinard in the northeast,
- Chevrières in the east,
- Chatte and Saint-Bonnet-de-Chavagne in the southeast,
- Montagne in the south,
- Montmiral to the west as well
- Valherbasse with Saint-Bonnet-de-Valclérieux and Montrigaud in the north-west.
