List of large stone graves in Saxony-Anhalt
The list of large stone graves in Saxony-Anhalt includes all approximately 470 to 480 known large stone graves in the area of what is now the state of Saxony-Anhalt . In addition, 120 field name references are listed, which could point to other graves, but also to natural formations or other human remains such as menhirs . Type : differentiation between different types of graves
- Urdolmen : small square or rectangular burial chamber with four wall stones and a cap stone, with or without access
- Extended dolmen : rectangular burial chamber with at least four wall stones on the long sides, two cap stones and access on one narrow side
- Großdolmen : rectangular burial chamber with at least six wall stones on the long sides, three cap stones and access on one narrow side
- Polygonal poles : burial chamber made of at least five wall stones, polygonal or round floor plan, usually a single large capstone, side access
- Passage grave : rectangular, trapezoidal or convex grave chamber with at least three wall block pairs on the long sides and access to a long-side
- Recessed chamber grave : rectangular burial chamber sunk into the ground, dating back to Western European gallery graves, with access via an anteroom on one narrow side
- Chamberless megalithic bed : elongated complex with a rectangular or trapezoidal mound and a stone enclosure and wooden structure, stone packing or earth pit instead of a megalithic burial chamber
- Stone box : small sunken or underground submegalithic burial chamber with four wall stones and a cap stone, without access
- Wall chamber grave : mostly sunken non-megalithic burial chamber with walls made of dry stone
