The King County is a county in the state of Texas of the United States and - in terms of population - the third smallest county in the United States and the second smallest in Texas. The county seat is in Guthrie .

The county is located north of the geographic center of Texas, about 70 km from the Oklahoma border, and covers an area of ​​2,366 square kilometers, of which 3 square kilometers are water. history

King County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County . It was named after William Phillip King , a defense attorney for the Alamo .

As of the 2000 census , King County had 356 people in 108 households and 88 families. The population density was 0.15 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 94.1 percent white, 1.1 percent African American and 3.1 percent from other ethnic groups; 1.7 percent were descended from two or more races. 9.6 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 108 households, 41.7 percent had children or young people living with them. 79.6 percent were married couples living together, 1.9 percent were single mothers, and 17.6 percent were non-families. 16.7 percent were single households and 1.9 percent had people aged 65 or over. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.12 people.

33.7 percent of the population was under 18 years old, 3.7 percent between 18 and 24, 29.5 percent between 25 and 44, 22.8 percent between 45 and 64 and 10.4 percent were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males and for every 100 females age 18 or over there were 100 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $ 35,625 , and the median income for a family is $ 36,875. Males had a median income of $ 21,389 versus $ 30,179 for females. The per capita income was 12,321. 20.7 percent of the population 17.9 percent of the families lived below the poverty line.
