The county is located in the west of Texas, borders with the northern tip on New Mexico and has an area of ​​6,843 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Eddy County , New Mexico, Loving County , Ward County , Pecos County , Jeff Davis County, and Culberson County .

history

Reeves County was formed in 1883 from parts of Pecos County. It was named after George Robertson Reeves , a lawyer and general in the Confederate Army .
