The New Town district was under Prussian administration one of six counties in the principality of Bayreuth , based in Neustadt an der Aisch .

history

The Neustädter Kreis existed from 1797 to 1806. It was formed from the state governing body Neustadt an der Aisch and the Oberamt Hoheneck , plus the manors Buchklingen , Burghausen , Herrnneuses , Illesheim , Neudorf , Neuenbürg , Rockenbach , Trautskirchen , Ullstadt and the lordships of Brunn , Sugenheim and Wilhermsdorf . The district authority was called the district directorate. Justice and administration were separated. The subordinate authorities were the judicial offices of Dachsbach, Külsheim and Markt Erlbach (for Neuhof and Emskirchen) and the chamber offices of Emskirchen, Ipsheim, Neuhof and Neustadt. The city of Neustadt was directly under the Bayreuth War and Domain Chamber. In 1803, the Bamberg Center Office in Herzogenaurach was incorporated into the Neustädter Kreis, which was then administered by the newly created Justice and Chamber Office in Herzogenaurach. On November 2, 1806, the French military government in the Principality of Bayreuth replaced the defeated Prussia. On March 14, 1808, these offices were handed over to the Erlangen district . At the same time, the Iphöfer Kreis , formed from the Würzburg offices of Iphofen, Markt Bibart and the Bamberg office of Oberscheinfeld, was incorporated into the Neustädter Kreis. With the Paris Treaty of 1810 , the Principality of Bayreuth - and with it the Neustädter Kreis - came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . The Prussian administrative structures were abolished. It was replaced by the newly created district courts of Cadolzburg , Nuremberg , Schwabach and the Wilhermsdorf court , which were responsible for both administration and justice.
