This plateau consists of an alternating layer of calcareous and sandy-marl sediments from the upper Jurassic period . The plateau is subdivided by various hollows that open to the Vannon valley. Agricultural use predominates in the lowlands and on the plateau, but there are also larger forest areas, especially in the area of the municipal boundaries. Attractions

The Brotte-lès-Ray chapel was built in the 16th century in the Gothic flamboyant style, although the tower was only added as part of a restoration at the end of the 18th century. The furnishings include important statues and statuettes from the 16th to 18th centuries and the altar from the 18th century.

Also worth seeing is the lavoir from 1844 with its arcade arch, which once served as a wash house and cattle trough.

A stone bridge from the late 18th century crosses the Vannon.
