Economy and Infrastructure
For a long time, Chancey was mainly a village characterized by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) and forestry. Today there are some local small businesses, including a quarry company. In the last few decades the village has transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.
The village is well developed in terms of traffic. It is on the main D12 road from Pesmes to Gy . Further road connections exist with Valay, Motey visits and Hugier.
